Carles
Cañellas
founded ROCAMORA in Italy in 1982, after
having been a member, in Barcelona, of the groups:
T.I.Z. (1974-76), Grupo-Taller
de Marionetas (1976-78), Col·lectiu
d'Animació (1978-80) and Circ-Cric
circus (1980-81).
Since 1987, has counted on the collaboration of Susanna
Rodriguez, ex-dancer of the contemporary dance
companies: Taba (1982-86), Saez-
Taba (1986-87) and Trànsit
(1988-89).
Carles
Cañellas, Dean
of the Catalan string-puppeteers, is
considered by the international critics to be one of Europe’s
best and most skilful string-puppeteers, and has taken
part in 231 theatre festivals in 15 countries and 3 continents.

Career “La Luna d'Argento 2004" by the International
Puppet Festival “La Luna è Azzurra"
of San
Miniato
(Pisa) Italy.
- Lecturer of the Theatre
Institute of Barcelona,
Academic Year 2005-06.
- Award to the Best Animation for the
show SOLOIST
at the “11th. World Festival of Puppet Art 2007”
of Prague, Czech Republic.
He
has produced 14 shows with ROCAMORA, alternating
commercial productions with other works of
pure research and high risk.

LA
MALETA In keeping with the style started in
the Col·lectiu d'Animació, actors and string-puppets
perform together to create comic and unlikely situations.
Over 500 functions in 9 countries.

AIR
MAIL A daring production with an equally complex
and attractive mise-en-scene, inspired by cinema, literature
and American B-series comics. Acknowledged by the public
and the Spanish and international critics as a supreme work
of theatre with puppets.

of the “IIa Mostra de Teatre de Titelles de l'Estat
espanyol”, Terrassa.

the “XVIIè Festival Internacional de Teatre”,

Brought together short works with string puppets
for the programme "filiprim"
directed by Josep Maria Bachs in TV3 (Catalan Channel),
with which also they participated in "Dicciopinta"
and "La
Parada".

RULETA
RUSSA The result of studio work with the dramatist
José Sanchis Sinisterra, this experimental work comprises
six monologues for actors involving a risky exercise in
different types of monologues. It reflects on types of expression
in theatrical language.
(1990)
EL
PERSEGUIDOR Co-production with the “Festival
de Tardor” of Barcelona”, “Fira de Teatre”
of Tàrrega and “Teatre Obert”. Adaptation
for actors and puppets of the homonymous story by Julio
Cortázar.
(1993) AUBUSTER
A thrilling production
with string puppets. A comic metaphor for the passage of
life, from "birth" to the encounter
with "death". Show without words.
(2005) EL
RETABLO DE MAESE PEDRO Co-production with Mercè
Framis and L'Auditori of Barcelona. Staging for shadow
theatre of the work by Manuel de Falla, on
the occasion by the opening concert of the Year
of the Book and the Reading, interpreted by the
Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya directed by Manel Valdivieso
and with three lyric singers.
